
Mr. I.I. Ogunlowo
O Ifeoluwa Isaac OGUNLOWO (Research Focus: Herbarium Management, Medicinal Plant Gardens, Conservation of Medicinal plants and their Utilization)
He obtained his B.Sc. (Botany, 2nd Class Upper Division) in 2008 and M.Sc. (Botany with a Distinction) in 2020 from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.
.? In 2010, he obtained a Certificate in Horticulture from Oyo State Agency for Youth Development Agriculture Training Programme and a Proficiency Certificate in Management, from the Nigerian Institute of Management. He was inducted as a Graduate Member in Lagos, Nigeria.
? In 2011, Ifeoluwa Ogunlowo was employed as Higher Technical Officer in the Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria where he trains both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students in Plant Identification and Herbarium techniques. He is currently a Senior Technical Officer and the Head, Herbarium/Medicinal Plant gardens Unit of the Department.
? Mr. Ogunlowo has served as a member of the Faculty Environment Committee: 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 sessions and Assistant Environmental Officer of the Faculty from 3rd November 2017 till 31st July, 2019. He worked assiduously for the registration of Faculty of Pharmacy Herbarium (FPI) on Index Herbariorum updated on 21st May, 2018 and the Establishment of ’89 Medicinal Plant Garden in between the Faculty’s twin buildings at the instance of Prof. Wilson O. Erhun (Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, 1st August, 2017- 31st July, 2019). The project was funded by the 1989 Pharmacy Alumni of GREAT IFE and completed on 12th August, 2018 with a unique status in all Schools of Pharmacy in Nigeria.
? Mr. Ogunlowo is a member of the Society of Herbarium Curators, United States (SHC-USA), National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT-OAU), Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF), Botanical Society of Nigeria (BOSON), Nigerian Field Society (NFS), Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and Coordinator of the Medicinal Plants Club (MPC-OAU) which has been collaborating with Good Deeds Day and Ruach Tova Foundation since 2019 thus teaching students the art of Volunteering and Community Development Services with the watchword “Doing Good with African Herbs”.
? In 2014, Mr. Ogunlowo was awarded funds from the Learned Conferences Financial Sub-committee of Obafemi Awolowo University to attend HerbFEST 2013 which was held at RAW Materials, Abuja. In 2017, he was granted an Executive Approval by the Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University for Day Release to pursue an M.Sc. in Botany and in 2020, he was nominated by the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) to attend ADAPTI (Advanced Digital Appreciation Programme for Tertiary Institutions) sponsored by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and facilitated by Digital Bridge Institute International Centre for Information and Communication Tech. Studies at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
? He has assisted several institutions and private individuals with landscaping and establishment of Medicinal Plant gardens/Parks. He is also a farm security consultant using natural barriers/plants. Currently, he runs trainings (physical & virtual) on hydroponics farming for individuals and organizations.
